The Agora is the birthplace of debate.
During the Ancient Greek times, increased commercial trade and the prosperity of democratic politics gave rise to colloquy. The Agora, a central gathering place for Greek citizens, served as the grounds for public discourse.
Socrates was regularly involved in debates at the Agora. He, through discussion, inspired his fellow men to strive for knowledge and truth.
We are named "Agoras Debate Club" and "AgorasAI" not only to pay homage to the great philosopher and Ancient Greece, but also in the hopes that we could continue the spirit of open and free debate. Our mission is to provide a chance to learn debate and foster critical thinking for everyone. Debate is not and should not be exclusive to the elite.
